Set Design isn't simply designing beautiful sets, it also means being a responsible designer and business owner. It's an exhausting profession, so this workshop is to help you maintain a sustainable career. Being a set designer means preparing and maintaining realistic budgets, managing time for design and build, organizing a team, communicating with directors and photographers, and wrapping / archiving the job.
In this workshop, Adi Goodrich will be showing you the world of set design from the beginning of a project. We'll be discussing budgeting and pitching, compiling PDF's to effectively communicate with clients, standard tools and materials to use and how to organize an art department, both in files and crew! She'll also be offering tips of professionally wrapping jobs, being accountable for your own creativity, running a crew, and sustainable practices to offer in your community and environment.

Adi Goodrich is based in Los Angeles, California and is half of the creative studio, Sing-Sing. Her practice lies between art & design including large-scale set design, site-specific art installations, tour visuals, photography, sculpture, and interiors.

She continues studies and teaching classes in Materiality, Color, Art History and Set Design.
